Inter Milan will take on Monaco in a pivotal UEFA Champions League clash without star midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Turkish international could make the bench against AC Milan.
Hakan Calhanoglu last featured for Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana final against the Rossoneri earlier in January.
Unfortunately, he picked up an injury already in the first half, forcing Simone Inzaghi to introduce Kristjan Asllani.
As a result, he was absent from Inter’s last five competitive outings, including a 1-0 win at Sparta Prague.
However, Monaco’s visit to Giuseppe Meazza will come too soon for the 30-year-old playmaker.
Inter and Monaco will lock horns in the league-phase finale tomorrow.
But Calhanoglu will be on the sidelines.

Indeed, he could be on the bench on Sunday when Inter and Milan renew hostilities in the famous Derby della Madonnina.
Yet, there’s reportedly no chance for the star midfielder to start the game next weekend.
That means Inzaghi will likely rely on Asllani to fill his shoes unless he decides to play Piotr Zielinski as a deep-lying playmaker.
Davide Frattesi would be another option for Inter following a sterling performance in a 4-0 rout of Lecce last weekend.
