Former Roma defender Riccardo Calafiori looked back on his departure from the Italian capital.

In an interview with the magazine Undici, the current Arsenal player returned to the beginning of his career with Roma and in particular to his farewell to his boyhood club.

“At first I was disappointed. But I never had any hard feelings towards Roma,” he said.

“I think it’s not easy to predict the future of such a young player,” he added. “A club has to make certain choices, especially if it has so many guys in that role on the team.”

“Roma was obviously a big and important part of my life and career and I still think only positive things about it now.”
