Roma have received an offer from Premier League side Fulham for Zeki Celik, according to Sky Sport Italia, but would only be prepared to sell rather than loan him.

The Giallorossi have just brought in Devyne Rensch from Ajax at a cost of €5m plus €1m in add-ons and he was thrown straight into the starting XI for his debut just hours after completing the transfer.

Because Rensch can play as a right-back, left-back or central defender, he fills the role usually taken by Celik.

However, transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio warns that Roma have not yet given the all-clear for the Turkey international to leave in the winter transfer window.

This is partly because Claudio Ranieri does not wish to weaken the squad after qualifying for the Europa League play-offs, especially as Nicola Zalewski is heading towards Inter.

Before he can complete that, he must first sign a new contract at Roma for it to work.

Another concern that Roma have is that Fulham asked to get Celik on loan with an option to buy, whereas they’d only be prepared to let him leave at this stage for an obligation to make it permanent.

Celik turns 28 later this month and was purchased from LOSC in the summer of 2022 for €7.4m.

He made 28 appearances so far this season, contributing one assist.
