Paris Saint-Germain have been building stronger ties with Portugal through sporting advisor Luis Campos, adding players like Vitinha, João Neves, and Gonçalo Ramos to their roster.
However, when the summer transfer window opens, Manchester United will aim to outmaneuver PSG for a young talent both clubs have been tracking.
As Foot Mercato previously reported, PSG, along with Manchester City and United, have been closely following 17-year-old Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon.
United’s interest is particularly notable, given that manager Rúben Amorim previously coached Sporting. The Athletic recently revealed that United plan to pursue Quenda this summer, with Amorim keen to reunite with the young talent.
The teenager is expected to be valued at around €40 million (£33.4 million). However, there’s a latest development in this saga as the new Manchester United manager wants the Red Devils to seal this transfer.

According to the Daily Star’s chief sports writer, Jeremy Cross, Amorim has told his club to get a deal done.
“Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has urged his club bosses to stump up the cash to sign teenage sensation Geovany Quenda,” Cross wrote. “Amorim wants to raid former club Sporting Lisbon to sign Quenda in a £35 million (roughly €40 million) deal. Amorim is a huge fan of Quenda’s, having overseen his progress into the Sporting first team during his time in charge.
“And he is keen to lure the winger to Old Trafford this summer – provided United bosses are willing to fund the deal. Amorim has held talks with senior figures at United about who he wants to bring in in the next window. And he has made it clear to them that Quenda has to be one of United’s leading targets.”
Recently, GIVE ME SPORT’s Ben Jacobs confirmed the verbal agreement with Quenda while also detailing what happens next between Man Utd and Sporting.
“The player has agreed verbally personal terms,” Jacobs said. “He’s waiting to see if the clubs pre-agree [a transfer] or wait until the summer.”
However, this might not be the case. TEAMtalk reported that there are no agreements—verbal or otherwise—between Manchester United and the Portuguese player or between the club and his current team, Sporting Lisbon.
