Lecce wasted chances and were denied by Lukasz Skorupski heroics in the first half, then Bologna had a Thijs Dallinga goal disallowed late on in this stalemate.

The Rossoblu were brimming with confidence after a five-match unbeaten Serie A run plus their midweek Coppa Italia quarter-final victory away to Atalanta. Jens Odgaard joined Lewis Ferguson and Riccardo Orsolini on the treatment table, while the hosts were only missing Filip Marchwinski.

Lecce should’ve taken the lead in the opening minute when two Bologna players collided to spark the counter-attack, but Tommaso Pobega threw himself in the way of Tete Morente’s finish from 10 yards.

Lukasz Skorupski made a simply extraordinary double save when Santiago Pierotti robbed Charalampos Lykogiannis to go clear, but was denied by the Bologna goalkeeper, who also managed to get on his feet and push the Thorir Helgason rebound over too.

While Lecce dominated the first half, the Rossoblu poured forward in the second and Santiago Castro’s cheeky back-heel flick on a Dan Ndoye pull-back was charged down, but their possession created few real dangers for Wladimiro Falcone.

Instead, Medon Berisha scuffed the angled drive wide after a completing a give and go with Jesper Karlsson.

Bologna did have the ball in the net on 87 minutes when a corner was knocked down and Dallinga nodded in from point-blank range, but the offside flag went up and it was confirmed by VAR.

Dallinga had another huge chance in stoppages, his header well saved by Falcone.
