Don Goodman believes Southampton and Sheffield United must swiftly agree the transfer terms for Ben Brereton Diaz's summer exit.

Typically, Southampton players have created a rather undesirable image of themselves in this season. Almost all of the roster is full of summer exit favourites but only a handful of them can command a Premier League move.

That doesn't mean there wouldn't be Championship outfits queuing up to sign them. Ultimately, most of the players have worked their way through the second division ladder and can still put up regular game-changing displays there.

So, are there any players who can generate some additional transfer funds for the Saints?

Turns out, there are a few strikers in that list and one of them has acquired a brilliant form in recent weeks. Now, add the level of demand in him and Southampton are sure to improve their financial muscles by leaps and bounds by transferring him.

Should be an easy guess by now. It's Sheffield United's on-loan targetman Ben Brereton Diaz.

When Diaz made up his mind to link up with the Blades again, only a few Saints would have imagined him dominating the Championship. Yet, the determined Chilean is on track to make up for his declining recognition for both club and country.

As a reward, Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has openly vouched for his permanent transfer to Sheffield United.

In his own words, Goodman said: "Hopefully you think with the new ownership that Wilder will have a decent amount of money to spend in the summer, so £10m on Brereton Diaz hopefully won't make too big of a dent in it."

Southampton has spent a vast amount of energy and transfer assets on Diaz, thus a hefty transfer windfall would be the perfect end to the 25-year-old's lackluster St. Mary's stay.

Will more clubs enter the bidding race for Diaz in the future, let's wait to find out.
