A recent report from Real Madrid Confidencial has revealed that Real Madrid have set a €20 million price tag on Fran Garcia.

This decision comes amid growing speculation about the left-back’s future at the club. Despite having a contract that runs until 2027, Garcia’s position seems uncertain, especially with the club actively pursuing a new left-back for their squad.

The €20 million valuation is notably higher than his current market value, estimated at around €15 million. However, this has not deterred interest from several clubs.

Two clubs interested in Garcia

In fact, it is said that both Rayo Vallecano and Atletico Madrid are closely monitoring the situation, with Rayo Vallecano emerging as a strong contender.

Garcia’s previous stint with Rayo Vallecano left a lasting impression, and the club is reportedly keen on bringing him back.

Given the injury concerns surrounding Pacha Espino, who recently returned from a serious setback, Garcia’s return could be an ideal solution for Vallecano’s left flank.

That said, Real Madrid’s asking price poses a significant challenge for Rayo Vallecano. A loan deal or a transfer involving only a percentage of Garcia’s rights might be the more realistic approach for the Vallecano outfit.

What about Atletico Madrid?

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are also exploring the possibility of signing Fran Garcia to strengthen their defensive options.

His familiarity with the capital, coupled with his adaptability, makes him an attractive candidate for Diego Simeone’s tactical system.

However, like Vallecano, Atletico Madrid will need to weigh the financial implications of meeting Real Madrid’s demands.

Exit is the solution

Although Real Madrid’s valuation complicates negotiations, Garcia’s departure appears inevitable.

The player is eager for more playing time and a prominent role—opportunities will not be consistently received under Carlo Ancelotti, especially next season.

For him, a move away from Santiago Bernabeu might be the only way to secure his future in football.
