Southampton is one of the names vying for prodigy forward Louie Marsh. While it's a no from Sheffield, still the Saints might fancy their way to a move.
A look at Southampton's current season roster might lead you to a notable insight. It suggests the Saints and Championship side Sheffield United have featured several overlapping players recently.
Interestingly, almost all of them represented Southampton later than Sheffield, with Brereton Diaz being an anomaly. Else, forward Cameron Archer and keeper Ramsdale's case has been the same.
Now, taking inspiration from the past, Southampton has been planning a transfer move directly from Sheffield.
As per TBR Football, the Saints are more than willing to provide forward prodigy Louie Marsh a start in the Premier League. But, they aren't alone in his race, as contemporaries Everton and Crystal Palace eye the youngster too.
Sadly, the trio is in for a shocking surprise. For now, Sheffield United has no plans of departing their homegrown prodigy.
While it is true that Marsh's current season hasn't been great, Sheffield eyes him as one for the future. Being a serious contender for promotion, the Blades want to keep hold of Marsh for the Premier League next season.
Still, Southampton could pull off a simple trick to get a deal done.
Though it's a straight no for a permanent transfer, the Saints should fancy their chances for a loan. That way, convincing Sheffield wouldn't be an uphill battle.
Having one of the best case studies, of English prodigy Tyler Dibling, Southampton can sign Marsh by selling dreams to the Blades.
In case, that happens, that could be a remarkable end to their winter transfer window. Having done a couple of signings for defense, and added Gronbaek in the midfield, Marsh's loan could finish the window flourishingly.
After all, who knows, Louie Marsh might be the Sheffield forward they have been looking for in Ben Brereton Diaz previously.
