The signs are pointing towards AC Milan being active in the January mercato, and Franco Ordine has taken a look at the business that the Rossoneri should do.

There are a number of areas that can be improved in Milan’s team. You could make arguments that a signing is needed in every area of the pitch, whether it be a backup or an improvement. Unfortunately, that is not realistic for one window, if even a year.

This is why it is important that signings are prioritised, based on what is lacking at present. Ahead of the window, the main suggestions have been about a new striker (or just generally, an attacker) with Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze’s positions under fire.

Then, there is a big focus on the midfield, with Sergio Conceicao’s squad lacking the options to replace Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana when needed.

Today, Franco Ordine has written a column about what the club should target in January for Milan News.

“Having exhausted the sociological parenthesis, with some even more amusing references to that part of the bogus Rossoneri fans who turned the success in Riyadh into another stage in the process, we must deal with the immediate future to be divided into two precise chapters.

“The first is surely dictated by the football-market. Before the final began, Ibra opened a glimmer. ‘Something will be done,’ he explained. And the most obvious moves concern the replacement of Okafor with Rashford, about which the specialist sites and colleagues have written a lot.

“In truth, the most important news concerns Tomori, who already seemed to be on his way to Turin (had Fonseca remained on the bench) and who instead, with the advent of Conceiçao, has become one of the pillars of the Rossoneri defence.

“We will need to alternate all 4 in the next 6 games spread over 18 days. In Ibra’s place, I would try to use the small wave of enthusiasm recorded by the 3-2 in Riyadh to also try to strengthen the midfield, even if all signs point to the choice already made for next summer [Ricci of Torino]. Perhaps by changing Terracciano for someone more reliable, a buffer result can be achieved.”
