The PSG Academy launches in Reunion | OneFootball

After great success in Martinique, Guadeloupe and French Guiana, the PSG Academy is continuing its development in Overseas France with the opening of a new site in Reunion. The launch marks a new stage in the club's expansion, with the aim of offering young people on Reunion Island high-quality sports coaching in keeping with the high standards and philosophy of Paris Saint-Germain.

First site in Saint-Denis

The PSG Academy Reunion will open its doors in the capital, Saint-Denis, on the Five Ocorner site. This strategic location will provide young players from the island with the best possible environment in which to develop and progress under the colours of Paris Saint-Germain.The annual PSG Academy Reunion football school programme will officially kick off on Monday 31st March 2025, under the supervision of Williams Vimbouly, the programme's Technical Director. A number of VIPs will be invited to attend, including the Mayor of Saint-Denis, Ericka Bareigts.

Williams Vimbouly emphasised the importance of this project for local young people: ‘We are extremely proud to see the PSG Academy established on Reunion. Our young people are bursting with talent, and this project will enable them to flourish in a structured environment that meets the club's high standards.'

High-quality training for young people in Reunion

In keeping with the Paris Saint-Germain methodology, the PSG Academy Reunion will offer a high-quality training programme supervised by qualified coaches trained to the club's requirements. The aim is to develop the technical, tactical and mental skills of the young players, while instilling in them the core values of Paris Saint-Germain.

Valentin Weller, Head of PSG Academy & Esports, underlines the importance of this new opening:‘It's a great source of pride for the club to open a PSG Academy in Reunion. The region has always held a special place in the heart of Paris Saint-Germain, with a passionate and committed fan community, a dynamic Supporters Club and several former professional players from the island. Through this Academy, we hope to perpetuate this strong bond by passing on our technical knowledge to young people from Reunion, as well as the strong values that make up the Paris Saint-Germain identity.'

School holiday programmes

Starting in May, programmes for all young football fans will be organised during the school holidays. They will take place from Monday 5th May to Friday 16th May 2025 on the Five Ocorner site and will offer a unique opportunity to progress under the supervision of qualified coaches, an immersive experience under the colours of Paris Saint-Germain.In addition to the first training centre in Saint-Denis, the PSG Academy Reunion plans on opening new sites across the island in the future, enabling a greater number of young players from Reunion to benefit from high-quality training.
