Following a stellar start to the campaign, Barcelona appear to be a favourite in the race for the league title this season.
However, as we enter the international break, coach Hansi Flick has kickstarted his plans for the season ahead, notably eyeing up to three players who can join the club for free next summer.
One of Flick’s targets is Joshua Kimmich. The Bayern Munich star and German international is a familiar figure to Flick, who coached him at both Bayern and the national team.
Kimmich’s ability to excel in multiple roles—central midfield and right-back—makes him a highly valuable asset.
His tactical intelligence and deep understanding of Flick’s system would allow for a seamless transition into Barcelona’s setup, adding both defensive stability and creative dynamism.

Alphonso Davies is another option for Flick, as he looks to shore up his options in the defensive unit.
The dynamic full-back also has a strong connection with Flick from their Bayern days.
Known for his electrifying pace and offensive prowess on the left wing, Davies would provide competition for Alejandro Balde and offer a new dimension to Barcelona’s wide play.
Barcelona, though, are set to face stiff competition from Real Madrid, who are equally keen on attaining the services of the Canadian international.
Speaking of Canadians, Barcelona are also eyeing a move for Jonathan David. The LOSC Lille starlet has become a sought-after prospect in Europe due to his productivity in front of goal.
With a keen eye for goal and an impressive work rate, David would be an ideal successor to Robert Lewandowski.
David’s addition would not only provide attacking depth but also ensure Barcelona’s frontline remains potent for years to come. And with his contract expiring at the end of the season, he would also be a cost-effective option for the Catalans.
