Sunday saw Tottenham Hotspur take to the pitch in the Premier League once again, after their 2-3 win out in Germany against Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim in the UEFA Europa League. This time it was a home match against a struggling Leicester City, who had lost their last seven league games. So you'd have thought this would have been a great chance for the North Londoners to get their season back on track.

However, you'd be wrong, as an absolutely disgraceful display in the first five minutes of the second half led to the Foxes scoring twice, and coming back from a goal down to win the game 1-2. Even as someone who thinks a lot of Spurs' problems lie with those upstairs, it is becoming more difficult to say Postecoglou isn't blameless. We're going to take a look at three possible candidates who could replace him if Levy was to pull the plug.

We'll start with what is the probably the most obvious choice for a lot of the Spurs faithful, AFC Bournemouth gaffer Andoni Iraola. The 42-year-old Spaniard has done an absolutely magnificent job so far this season for the Cherries, having them in 7th place and looking like they could even qualify for European competition come the end of the season. They even demolished another high flying underdog this season on Saturday in Nottingham Forest, who are currently managed by former Spurs boss Nuno Esporito Santo.

Iraola isn't your typical Spanish gaffer, his Cherries side only average forty six percent of the ball so far this season, which is 15th highest out of the twenty Premier League sides. However his team are very high pressing and have plenty of players with bundles of energy to hit teams on the counter but to also be able to get back quickly when being attacked themselves. Iraola usually uses a 4-2-3-1 with very fast, direct attacking players that have the freedom to express themselves. He did a good job in his native Spain with another relatively 'small' club in Rayo Vallecano and is now doing so at AFC Bournemouth, so at a bigger club with more financial backing, who knows what he could achieve?

The second name we're going to look at is someone who might not be all too familiar with Spurs fans, VFB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß. The 42-year-old has been in charge of 'Die Schwaben' since April 2023, when he took over whilst the club were at huge risk of being relegated to the second division. Hoeneß kept them up via the Bundesliga two-legged play-off where they played against third place 2. Bundesliga side Hamburg.

The very next season he guided the club to an incredible second place finish, only behind the unbeaten champions Bayer Leverkusen, which means they finished above usual winners Bayern Munich and former Spurs striker Harry Kane! If it wasn't for Leverkusen's unbeaten campaign, Hoeneß and his team would have gotten a lot more plaudits.

He once again has them fighting near the top of the league, currently in forth position, even after losing twenty eight goals from last season in the former of Serhou Guirassy, who moved to Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund. They're a very good side at keeping the ball, averaging fifty nine percent of it in this season's domestic campaign, only behind Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Again with more cash and resources available, Hoeneß could be a good appointment for Tottenham.

The last one we'll be taking a look at today is probably the easiest one Spurs could attain right now, considering he is the only one of the three that is currently out of a job, and that is German Edin Terzić. Like the previous two, Terzić is also 42-years-of-age and is relatively young for a coach, so his best years will definitely be in front of him. He is a free agent after leaving his role at his boyhood club Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season. The German-Croatian did a great job in difficult circumstances for the Black and Yellows, and came inches away from two huge successes in back-to-back seasons.

His Dortmund side lost the league on the final day of the 22/23 season due to a 2-2 draw with Mainz, after his side missed a penalty at 0-0, and star player Jude Bellingham not being fit enough to feature. He also came close to winning last season's UEFA Champions League final after a 0-2 loss to favourites Real Madrid, although his side really dominated first half and had at least two or three chances that should have seen them out of sight.

This also wouldn't be the first time Terzić has worked in the Premier League and more specifically London, where he was the assistant to his good mate Slaven Bilić at West Ham United from the summer of 2015 until Bilić was let go by the Hammers in November 2017, so he has some experience of the Premier League
