Paris Saint-Germain are loading up on young talent and this past summer, the capital club secured Desire Doue.
The Parisian signed Doue from Stade Rennais last summer for a €50 million transfer fee. This season, he’s played in 39 total matches, scoring seven goals and recording 11 assists.
Nonetheless, Doue had a coming out part in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Liverpool. The casual football fan got to see the potential of another young French talent.
Moreover, Doue scored the game-winning shot in the penalty kick shootout that eliminated the Reds from the competition. Now, Doue received his first call up to the French national team.

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Mathys Tel, who came up through Rennes’ youth system with Desire Doue, told L’Equipe that he saw the PSG standout put on an impressive performance against Liverpool.
“Yes, we talk all the time, I watched Liverpool [against PSG], he also watches my matches from time to time,” Tel said (h/t Le10Sport). “We always have that relationship of encouraging each other because we know we’re not in an easy world, it’s not always obvious to be in the deep end so soon, we’re always united.”
Furthermore, Tel told the French media outlet that he’s not surprised by his former teammate’s rise to stardom, even if many others might be.
“It’s huge what he’s doing and he deserves what’s happening to him, he works hard, I’m not surprised he’s with the senior team and I hope he’ll stay there for a long time,” Tel added. “For every player who has been through the French youth teams, the goal is to reach the senior team.”
