Tottenham close out a forgettable 2024 on home soil this weekend as Wolves make the trip to N17.

Ange Postecoglou was once heralded as the man capable of rekindling the highs of the Mauricio Pochettino era in north London, but many are starting to question whether the Australian is capable of spearheading a sustainable Premier League project.

The Spurs squad has been decimated for much of his tenure, but supporters are struggling to stomach their side's current position irrespective of injuries. Tottenham are 11th in the Premier League table after losing at the high-flying Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.

While Wolves are 17th and eight points worse off, the mood in Vitor Pereira's camp is certainly brighter. The new manager at Molineux has enjoyed the best possible opening to his Wolves tenure, with the West Midlanders securing two wins from two since the Portuguese coach replaced Gary O'Neil.

Perhaps a fresh voice was all this squad needed.

Here is 90min's guide to Tottenham's upcoming Premier League clash.

Djed Spence was sent off late on at his old stomping ground which means he's suspended for Wolves' visit. Pedro Porro will come back into the XI on Sunday after dropping to the bench on Boxing Day.

Spurs have more issues at centre-back with Radu Dragusin picking up a knock which renders him a doubt for the weekend's game. Ben Davies suffered a setback in training, however, leaving no senior centre-back to partner 18-year-old Archie Gray. While Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven remain absent, defensive midfielder Yves Bissouma could be forced into the backline as an emergency replacement.

Richarlison could return to action soon but isn't yet ready to feature, while Mikey Moore has recovered from an illness and may be involved on Sunday.

Guglielmo Vicario and Wilson Odobert are poised for February comebacks.

Tottenham predicted lineup vs Wolves (4-3-3): Forster; Porro, Gray, Bissouma, Udogie; Bentancur, Sarr, Maddison; Kulusevski, Solanke, Son.

Mario Lemina is a doubt for Sunday's game / Catherine Ivill - AMA/GettyImages

Mario Lemina missed Wolves' Boxing Day win over Manchester United with a muscle injury and could be absent again this weekend. Pereira has opted for Brazilian tandem Joao Gomes and Andre in his midfield pivot with Lemina sidelined.

Boubacar Traore is closing in on a return from a knee injury, but that comeback will likely arrive next month.

Wolves have several players absent with long-term injuries, including Sasa Kalajdzic, Yerson Mosquera and Enso Gonzalez. The unfortunate Kalajdzic is on the comeback trail having barely played since arriving on British shores.

Wolves predicted lineup vs Tottenham (3-4-2-1): Sa; Doherty, Bueno, Toti; Semedo, Andre, Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Hwang, Cunha; Larsen.

Tottenham vs Wolves score prediction

A fresh voice has galvanised a Wolves squad which certainly isn't bereft of talent, although triumphs over a porous Leicester and a vulnerable United means we shouldn't yet be heralding Pereira as a messiah.

Despite Spurs' recent woes, there's no denying that this is a tougher test. While the Lilywhites were stuck in the mud on Boxing Day, they tend to supply much more endeavour in N17 and everyone will be aware at just how significant a game this is. The fanbase will really start to turn if Wolves escape with a result.

Spurs' desperation may help them to victory, but expect plenty of chaos. Wolves have the talent to hurt their depleted hosts.
