Jason Pettigrove, in his exclusive report for CaughtOffside, has stated that Tottenham are very interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers player Matheus Cunha and are also ready to trigger the release clause of the Wolves star.
The forward was one step out of the club, but they managed to convince him to sign a new contract. However, he has a release clause of £62 million in his contract, as per reports. Many clubs are interested in the forward. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham are two of the clubs that are interested in signing him.
Spurs want to rejuvenate their attacking department in the summer transfer window. Cunha is a livewire up top, bringing a spark that’s hard to ignore. He is sensational whether he’s leading the line or drifting wide; he’s got flair and hustle. Cunha is quick off the mark, with a low centre of gravity that lets him twist past defenders.

His finishing is sharp, often clinical in tight spaces, and he’s not afraid to shoot from a distance. Off the ball, he presses like a madman, giving defenders no peace. At 25, he’s got bags of potential, mixing Brazilian flair with a gritty edge. Cunha’s the kind of striker who keeps you on edge. All these qualities make him a perfect target for the club.
Cunha has scored 13 goals in 25 matches so far in the Premier League 2024/2025 season. Overall, his goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.57. Moreover, Cunha’s total G/A (goals + assists) is 17 for this season. His goal involvement equates to 0.74 per 90 minutes. His non-penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.56. So, he has been in quite good form this season.
However, if all three clubs interested trigger his release clause, Cunha might choose Arsenal and Chelsea over Tottenham. The Blues and Gunners are in a better position for trophies than Spurs. Therefore, it will not be easy for Spurs to sign the Wolves star in the summer transfer window. It remains to be seen what happens in the summer.
