One player, Mikey Moore, who started for Spurs in their recent Premier League win, could find himself axed for the vital second leg.

The 17-year-old midfielder, who had a challenging performance against Brentford, may be left out as Postecoglou looks for a more experienced side to take on Liverpool at Anfield.

Tottenham will need to hold their ground against the Reds, a task made even more difficult with several players unavailable due to injury.

It’s shaping up to be a pivotal moment for both Moore and Tottenham’s ambitions this season.

Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-0 win over Brentford saw Mikey Moore struggle, with the young midfielder being substituted at half-time after receiving criticism for his 'naive' performance.

In the Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool, the stakes are much higher, and John Wenham, the owner of Lilywhite Rose, suggests that the 17-year-old might be too inexperienced for such a crucial fixture.

"Despite all the injuries, I do think we have some better options now, with the likes of Ben Davies available and now Kevin Danso," Wenham commented for Tottenham News.

"We could see a midfield three of Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma and maybe even Archie Gray. That would mean a front three of Dejan Kulusevski, Son Heung-min and Richarlison.

“Moore could keep his place, but I think it is such a big ask for a 17-year-old to play in a semi-final at Anfield. Therefore, he will likely come out the side."

Tottenham set to face a tough challenge against Liverpool

The match against Liverpool at Anfield is one of the toughest challenges in English football, and Tottenham will need every bit of experience to manage the pressure.

Spurs only need a draw to progress, but with injuries continuing to impact the squad, Postecoglou may need to rely on seasoned players to ensure they stand a chance.

With the added complexity of more players being ruled out for the season, Tottenham’s lineup for the Carabao Cup second leg will be vital.

The team’s strength in depth will be tested, and Postecoglou’s decisions in the coming days could have a huge impact on their chances of reaching the final.
