Manchester United are anticipated to be busy on transfer deadline day today.
The clock is ticking down on potential deals, as United struggle to bolster their squad.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have turned down an approach from Italian side Como for 18 year old talent Gabriele Biancheri.
Biancheri had been in unstoppable form this season at the youth level.
He has netted 16 goals and bagged one assist in 17 games across all competitions.
He put in a dazzling performance for Wales U19s’ 5-0 victory over Liechtenstein in November last year.
The young striker bagged a second-half hat-trick to help his side run riot in the U19 European Championship qualifiers.
Regarded as one of the academy’s brightest emerging talents, Biancheri has developed a reputation for scoring in bundles.
The same was evident with stellar hat-trick in the FA Youth Cup against Coventry City.
His future looks incredibly promising as he continues to make waves at every level.
While striker Chido Obi-Martin has grabbed the spotlight since his move from Arsenal, Biancheri is just as talented and has the potential to make a major impact.
United made the right call in rejecting Como’s approach, if it involved a permanent transfer for Biancheri.
However, the Red Devils should consider loaning him out for the remainder of the season, if that option is on the table.
It will allow him more first-team experience and an exposure to regular playing time.
The 18-year-old had a tough start to 2025, as he was seen recovering from surgery on a broken hand.United fans will be anxiously awaiting his return.
United fans will eagerly await his return and see if manager Ruben Amorim gives him a chance to make his senior debut before the conclusion of the season.
With Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failing to impress in front of goal, United find themselves short on attacking options.
As the window draws to a close, it wouldn’t be surprising if the academy players are called upon to make an impact before the season concludes.
