Speaking ahead of his side’s league encounter with Roma this afternoon, Udinese executive Gianluca Nani discussed the situation involving striker Lorenzo Lucca.

The 24 year-old has been linked with a potential transfer exit this month as several clubs, including the Giallorossi, have inquired about his availability.

“I’ll say this about Lorenzo (Lucca): he’s gotten far fewer inquiries from clubs than his value warrants,” Nani told DAZN.

“I’d be surprised if no offers came in—he’s an exceptional striker. When no one asks me about a strong player, it surprises me. Roma hasn’t approached us, but he’s on the radar of many top clubs.”

As for team objectives, Nanni made it clear their top priority is to mathematically avoid relegation and ensure their place in Serie A for next season.

“Our first goal is to reach 40 points as quickly as possible, which would mean securing safety,” he confessed.

“That’s the minimum target we must always aim for. After that, we’ll think about having fun and raising the bar. Especially after last season, we’d like to achieve safety as early as possible.”
