UEFA: Milan trail behind Juventus, Inter and Napoli in value – the details

In recent years, AC Milan have sat pretty in squad rankings in terms of value, not just in Italy, but in Europe. Now though, that has changed substantially.
This season has been poor in terms of competition and economics, of course, both affect each other, but the degree is staggering. Milan’s stars have faltered, and this has left the team struggling in Serie A, whilst the Champions League was a nightmare.
Of course, this has meant that clubs are less willing to pay what they may be valued at, both internally, and generally speaking, and a report from UEFA (via Calciomercato.com) has shown the actual damage, and it is not positive.
The report, titled “The European Club Finance and Investment Landscape“, aims to measure the different finances of top clubs in the past year, and the Rossoneri have not done too well.
In the top 10 sit both Juventus (9th) and Inter (10th), with values of €737 million and €624m respectively. However, the distance is extended even further when looking further down.
Napoli sit next in the Italian clubs in 17th with a value of €445m, and there is a €60m gap to the Diavolo, where Milan sit 18th with a value of €382m.
Of course, this is not the be all and end all, but considering three players were worth €235m earlier this season, it is certainly a large fall from grace.
