Charity Level Playing Field have launched their annual campaign, Unite For Access — a celebration of good access and inclusion at sports venues, pushing for equality for disabled fans.
Running from 1st–16th March 2025, the campaign is a celebration of access and inclusion for disabled sports fans, bringing together sporting communities across England and Wales.
Every year, the campaign aims to raise awareness of accessibility in sport, and what can be done to ensure an accessible, inclusive matchday for everyone. As part of the campaign, the charity launched this year’s Unite for Access film. It is also available in a range of accessible formats. The film focuses on the value of collective matchday experiences and combatting year-on-year rises in disability abuse as a barrier to attending live sport, as revealed in their 2024 annual fan survey.
The charity’s Patron, Roy Hodgson, unveiled this year’s film. Hodgson said: “Unite For Access presents us with an outstanding opportunity to bring people together.
“The message of this year’s film really gives us all something to unite behind. Everyone has a role to play, in creating an inclusive environment for disabled fans. The coming weeks will see us put access and inclusion at the top of the agenda. I encourage everyone to join us, as we Unite For Access.”
Clubs across the women’s football pyramid have come together to Unite For Access, showing their support to the campaign on recent match-days. Further strengthening their dedication to accessibility. Clubs in the Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship that have shown their support include Arsenal, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Brighton and Hove Albion and West Ham. West Ham also held a dedicated training session to show their commitment to accessibility.
There’s still another exciting weekend of the campaign to come, and most importantly, plenty of time to Unite For Access. Find out more about the Unite For Access campaign and the work of Level Playing Field over on their website.
