Villarreal star hails ‘world-class’ Barcelona pair ahead of La Liga clash | OneFootball

Villarreal star Álex Baena has on Friday moved to reveal his appreciation for two leading members of the first-team ranks at La Liga rivals Barcelona.

As much comes as the Yellow Submarine prepare to lock horns with Hansi Flick’s Barca this weekend.

Fresh off a first defeat of the campaign in midweek, the La Liga table-toppers will turn their attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, in a trip to El Madrigal.

The Blaugrana will no doubt have a bounce-back result firmly in their sights, with the aforementioned Baena under no illusions when it comes to the nature of the test awaiting his side on Sunday.

Speaking during an interview with Directo Gol on Friday, the Spanish international had the following to say on Hansi Flick’s side:

“This is not the Barça of a few years ago, which didn’t generate as much. This team is super vertical. It puts pressure on you all the time and doesn’t let you breathe.”

Baena, from here, went on to heap praise on a pair of Barca stars, whom he considers to be nothing short of ‘world-class’:

“Pedri and Lamine Yamal are like 10-year-old kids. They’re super humble. And as footballers they are world-class.”
