Former Barcelona starlet Vitor Roque at last opened his account in the colours of Palmeiras over the weekend.
Not only that, but the frontman’s strike proved to be the decisive one, en route to a hard-fought victory over Vasco da Gama.
Roque, for his part, secured a move back to his native Brazil this past January.
Cutting short a loan stint with Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis, the 20-year-old was given Barcelona’s blessing to depart on a permanent basis, just a year on from his arrival at the club.
Roque’s time with Palmeiras, though, has since proven to be of a somewhat challenging nature.
Prior to this past weekend, the attacker had taken to the pitch in the colours of his new club on 12 occasions across all competitions.
Roque, however, in the process failed to score a single goal.
The relief, in turn, was evident on the face of the Brazil international on Sunday, upon Roque slotting home the only goal of the game from close range, after being laid on by Estêvão during a league meeting with Vasco da Gama:
