The 2024-25 season has been a memorable one for the FC Barcelona fans. After the turmoil of the last season, which ended without any trophy being won by the Blaugranes, the Catalan side has once again emerged as one of the top teams in Europe this year.

Hansi Flick deserves a lot of credit for his work with the team. The German has already led Barcelona to Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey glory, and is also within touching distance of the La Liga title now.

But in addition to these titles, the way the Blaugranes have played has also been highly commendable, as they remain one of the most entertaining teams in Europe.

Thiago Alcantara on Hansi Flick’s Barcelona

This aspect of Flick’s work was recently recognised by one of his former assistants and the former Barcelona midfielder, Thiago Alcantara.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spaniard talked to the media while attending an event in the city of Barcelona, and spoke highly of his former team:

“Those of us who’ve been through it see it with that colder, more tactical or technical side of football. But today, we can’t forget to mention the magic that the players, the coaching staff, and the club… bring to you as a sports fan. The magic of Barça goes beyond what happens on the pitch.”

Yamal and other notable players

Thiago Alcantara also praised Yamal and opined on how the youngster’s development should be handled:

“Let him keep enjoying himself. We shouldn’t set any limits on him, so he can continue to develop. We need to give him the tools to stay consistent in how incredible he is.”

The former Liverpool and Bayern Munich player also highlighted several other players:

“The age of Cubarsí or Éric García… They have an amazing level. It’s incredible. In midfield, Pedri and De Jong stand out—he’s taken that extra step in quality again. Honestly, the whole team surprises you.”

There is no doubt that Barcelona players have put in surprising performances in almost all areas of the pitch. Hopefully, the next season will be the same, and the Catalans will finally win another UCL title.
