Bologna’s victory over Milan in the final of the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night means that they have already wrapped up a place in next season’s Europa League, which could have an impact on the race for the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League positions in Serie A.
Here is a look at all the possible scenarios that could unfold over the final two games of the season.
Bologna lifted their first major title in 51 years by beating Milan 1-0 in the final of the Coppa Italia at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night; Dan Ndoye providing the only goal of the game after 53 minutes.

As a bonus for winning the cup, Bologna have also earned qualification to the league phase of the 2025-26 edition of the Europa League, which takes the pressure off in Serie A amidst a four-team pile-up for the European positions.
As things stand in Serie A, three teams (Napoli, Inter and Atalanta) have already qualified for the 2025-26 Champions League, and there are four teams within two points of fourth place, ie the final Champions League qualification spot.
Juventus are in fourth on 64 points, Lazio are level on points in fifth, Roma are sixth on 63 points while Bologna sit in seventh on 62, two above the losing finalists, Milan, who are at risk of missing out on European football altogether.
