Inter coach Simone Inzaghi was unhappy with how some of his players managed the ball in the final minutes of a 3-1 win against Cagliari, but according to Gazzetta, the Italian tactician was also worried about potential injuries.

Inter secured a vital 3-1 win over Cagliari on Saturday, moving six points clear of second-placed Napoli, who will host strugglers Empoli at the Stadio Maradona on Monday.

According to Gazzetta, however, the Italian tactician was also upset as he feared some key players would suffer injuries just a few days before a Champions League quarter-final decider against Bayern Munich at San Siro.

The Nerazzurri earned a 2-1 win in Germany last week despite injuries to Denzel Dumfries and Piotr Zielinski, while Federico Dimarco was not fully fit and spent the whole game on the bench.

According to the report, Inzaghi was furious when Nicola Zalewski was forced to be subbed off in the second half, although he later found out that the Roma loanee was only dealing with cramps.

During the final minutes, Inzaghi urged Davide Frattesi and other Inter players on the pitch not to take risks.

Lautaro Martinez and Dimarco on the bench helped the Nerazzurri boss, as the pair told their teammate to “move as little as possible and manage” himself.

Inter will face Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on April 16.
