Two members of Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid squad have this evening been singled out for widespread criticism.
As much comes owing to their respective performances in the club’s latest outing.
Real are of course currently locked in La Liga action, in a testing meeting with Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Club at San Mamés.
As things stand in the Basque Country, the two sides are locked at 0-0, amid a predictably hard-fought affair.
The visitors, for the most part, have struggled, looking alarmingly lacking in ideas in the final third, and altogether shaky at the back.
Amid as much, a host of members of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad have looked some way short of their best, from Rodrygo and Kylian Mbappé to Fran García.
It is two others, though, who have been singled out for the most widespread condemnation on the part of the club’s fanbase.
The pair in question? Aurélien Tchouaméni and Lucas Vázquez.
On his return to Real Madrid’s XI after a month on the sidelines with an ankle injury, midfielder Tchouaméni has looked completely off the pace once more.
Lucas Vázquez, meanwhile, faced with the daunting task of keeping tabs on Nico Williams, has continued to showcase the fact that he is simply not a natural full-back.
Calls, in turn, have mounted for both to be hauled off at the earliest opportunity by boss Carlo Ancelotti.
