Both Gladbach and Hoffenheim were hoping for a win to either get back into the race for the European places (Gladbach) or to secure their place in the Bundesliga for next season (Hoffenheim).

The game definetly promised goals for both sides: there hasn't been a game with no goals for one team since 2019! Here is a rundown of the spectacle in Gladbach:

1st half:

The 5th minute paved the way for the rest of the game: Gladbach's Fabio Chiarodia converted a corner and scored his 1st goal of the season.

Franck Honorat was close to double the lead for Gladbach in minute 18, but his goal was taken back because of an offside postion. The Gladbach fans however, didn't have to wait for too long after that:

In the 32nd minute, Rocco Reitz scored a nice goal after dribbling past 3 Hoffenheim defenders. He decided to chip goalkeeper Philipp and put Gladbach in front by two goals. Philipp was in goal for Hoffenheim's captian Oliver Baumann, who missed this game due to a concussion.

In the 43rd minute, goalkeeper Omlin saved a shot from Adam Hložek after a Hoffenheim corner - defender Arthur Chaves however, was there to clean up and got one back for Hoffenheim before half time.

2nd half:

Hoffenheim completed their comeback in the 54th minute: Marius Bülter finished a counter attack by Hoffenheim and made it all even.

Just 10 minutes later, Franck Honorat put the hosts back in front and ended Hoffenheim's euphoria - at least for the time being.

But Hoffenheim showed their comeback qualities once again and were able to equal the score once more: Hložek's shot from the edge of the box found the top right corner and the score was back to a draw: 3-3.

The fans in the stadium were in disbelief when, for the first time in this match, Hoffenheim were the ones to go in front: another corner found Hoffenheim's Tabaković, who headed the ball onto Tim Kleindienst's head and from there into Gladbach's goal; 4-3 to Hoffenheim after 81 minutes!

But even that wasn't the final goal of the match. In the 91st minute, Tim Kleindienst had the last say in this spectacle of a match, equalizing the score for the final time via a nice header.

The final result of this insane matchup: 4-4.
