AC Milan and Lazio have both joined Inter Milan in the race to sign Hellas Verona midfielder Reda Belahyane.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note that the Moroccan will cost a fee of around €10-15 million.
So far, Verona’s season as a whole has been a very difficult.
The Gialloblu find themselves locked in a fierce relegation battle. And currently they are struggling to get a foothold.
However, even amid this turbulence there have been some bright spots.
And one of them has been the form of young midfielder Belahyane.
Belahyane has been playing at the base of midfield for Verona.
The holding midfield role is hardly an easy one for younger players. The level of tactical understanding and technical polish that the role requires is higher than anywhere else on the pitch.
But even at the age of twenty, Belhayane has stood out playing that position.
Unsurprisingly, therefore, the Verona midfielder has caught the eye of some big clubs.
Inter are certainly among them. The Nerazzurri reportedly see Belahayane as a potential backup for Hakan Calhanoglu and future heir to the Turk, in the event that Kristjan Asllani leaves.
But then, both Milan and Lazio have also marked Belahyane as a major target, reports the Gazzetta.
