Jadon Sancho has apparently failed to secure himself a permanent stay at Chelsea, and another track has now evaporated.

The Englishman has been on Manchester United’s books since making the £71 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021.

Sadly for Winger, his time at Carrington has been marred by underwhelming displays and some off-field incidents, including altercations with his former manager, Erik ten Hag.

After two and a half disappointing years at the club, Sancho found a new lease of life during his loan spell at BVB in the second half of his previous campaign, but he failed to build on it after joining Chelsea last summer.

So although Chelsea have an obligation to buy the England international at the end of the season for £25 million, they have reportedly decided to relieve themselves of this clause by paying a £5m penalty.

Similar to fellow United outcast Marcus Rashford, the Red Devils have no desire to reintegrate Sancho in their plans for next season, so the hope is to find him a new club next summer.

In recent weeks, some sources discussed a potential third stint at Dortmund. After all, the winger produced his best football during his time at Signal Iduna Park.

Dortmund no longer an option for Sancho

However, in his most recent column for The Daily Briefing, German journalist Christian Falk shut down this rumour, insisting that BVB have never made an approach to bring back the London native.

Not true. Sancho is currently not a topic for Dortmund’s recruitment team,” insisted the Bundesliga insider.

It should be noted that Sancho has also been linked with Turkiye’s two biggest clubs: Galatasaray and Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, but it remains to be seen if either Istanbul giant would be able to fork out the required figures to seal the deal.

With only one year remaining on his contract, Man Utd should be gunning for an offer worth at least £17-18 to avoid recording a capital loss.
