Milan negotiated with Jorge Mendes to appoint Sergio Conceiçao. The collaboration with the agent could expand to the transfer market during the January window. The Rossoneri were already looking for a winger. The agent has a pair of interesting options among his clients, Francisco Trincao and Giovanni Reyna, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The former joined Barcelona when he was very young but has gone backward. He’s been at Sporting CP since 2022 after a loan spell at Wolverhampton. He has posted 6 goals and 10 assists in 25 appearances across all competitions this season. His price tag is about €25M.
The Borussia Dortmund attacker has had a similar trajectory. He was very touted early but hasn’t lived up to expectations. He stayed put last summer following an underwhelming temporary spell at Nottingham Forest, but he’s not a regular.
Milan have long been mulling shorting up their midfield, and Mendes represents Daniel Bragança. He’s been a linchpin at Sporting CP for a few campaigns. He’s versatile and has scored 11 times and provided 12 helpers in 129 matches with his current team.
Gedson Fernandes, Ansu Fati, Fabio Vieira, and Rayan Ait-Nouri could also be of interest to the Rossoneri should they opt to intervene in those roles, Calciomercato informs.
They had to discuss their new coach’s contract with somebody, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the partnership will carry over. They have generally steered cleared from powerful agents and rich commissions to avoid getting their arms twisted and contain the accessory spending in recent years.
