Alexander Isak could now miss the Fulham match.

The Sweden international was forced off on Sunday at Wolves, not appearing for the second half.

Eddie Howe making a triple substitution at the break.

Sean Longstaff and Joelinton were tactical changes, unlike Alexander Isak.

Eddie Howe confirming this after the game.

Just before half-time the ball was blasted into/off the striker’s face and that was what forced him off.

The Newcastle United Head Coach explaining after the 2-1 victory why Alexander Isak had been subbed:

“It was his eye.

“I’m not 100 percent sure what the issue was but we knew he had to come off.

“Hopefully not serious.

“He is such an important player to us.”

However, it isn’t any eye issue that is the worry with Alexander Isak, with thankfully it appears no lasting problem on that front.

Instead, The Mail have now reported that their information is that the striker has a toe injury, which has made him a doubt for Saturday at Craven Cottage.

For what it’s worth, Alexander Isak couldn’t be seen amongst the official training photos released on Wednesday of the squad training ahead of the Fulham match.

With Callum Wilson still not having returned as yet, if Alexander Isak isn’t available, then we could well see the same attacking formation that played that second half at Molineux, with Gordon through the middle, Barnes on the left and Murphy on the right.
