Alexander Isak has scored in all of his last four matches, against Chelsea, Chelsea (again), Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.

His supposed ‘slow’ start to the season has seen the striker have ten direct goal involvements in 13 games for club and country, eight goals and two assists.

Since moving to the Premier League, Alexander Isak has scored 35 goals for Newcastle United in 53 Premier League starts (plus eight appearances off the bench).

Little wonder that pretty much every major club would love to take the 25 year old away from Newcastle United.

Arsenal are also a club that would love to sign Alexander Isak and in the UK, we are subjected to nonsense on a daily basis from journalists, pundits, former Gunners players, Arsenal fans, all desperate to believe that a move to North London is imminent.

Alexander Isak is now away with Sweden, as they take on Slovakia and Azerbaijan in the Nations League.

Even there he isn’t safe from the Arsenal nonsense.

Alexander Isak asked by Swedish media outlet Fotbollskanalen about the non-stop Arsenal rumours:

“Throughout my career, I have never commented on [media] rumours during the season [about opposed interest from there clubs].

“There have been many such years where that [moving clubs] has been talked about.

“It doesn’t affect me.

“My situation at Newcastle?

“I have never had any problem there and I am fully focused on my task there, that we will have a fantastic season.

“There are still great opportunities for that and I have no thoughts about anything else.

“Much of what I read [about myself in the media] is not true.

“That is about all I can say about the whole thing.”

It must be at least as irritating for Alexander Isak as it is for Newcastle United fans, when it comes to the media constantly making stuff up about him, claims of interesting in moving and so on.

The fact is, he is still under contract at Newcastle United for another four years, up to 30 June 2028. So it is absolutely laughable that journalists put out shameless stories claiming United are under pressure to sell Alexander Isak due to contract pressure.

It is a different case at say Crystal Palace, where Newcastle United target Marc Guehi now has less then 20 months left on his contract.

Even worse at Anfield, where so far Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold have all refused to sign new contracts, all three of them having less than eight months to go before they are set to be free agents at the end of June 2025, unless anything changes.
