Ruben Amorim has rewarded Alejandro Garnacho with a start in Manchester United’s FA Cup clash against Arsenal on Sunday, amidst reported transfer interest from Antonio Conte and Napoli.
According to Sunday’s reports, Conte has identified Garnacho as his preferred replacement for the outgoing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is currently in negotiations over a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The 20-year-old has not played in any of United’s last five Premier League fixtures and was not included in the matchday squad for the recent 2-1 win over Manchester City.
He has, however, been selected to start in the FA Cup tie against Arsenal, as Amorim feels it is a ‘good opportunity’ to see what the Argentine youngster can bring to the table after impressing in training.

“I like the way Ale Garnacho plays,” Amorim said prior to kick-off.
“He is playing well and he deserves to start. The way he is training, we felt it was a good opportunity to see Garnacho start the game.”
Reports in Italy claim that Napoli are eyeing a potential deal in the region of €50m for the Argentina international, who was included on the list of Golden Boy nominees in 2024.
