Ruben Amorim says he is not exempt from his job being at risk if Manchester United’s results do not start to improve.

United were beaten 2-0 at Wolves on Boxing Day, their third defeat on the bounce in all competitions and Amorim’s fourth in the Premier League in seven games since taking over as boss.

Amorim has previously spoken of the need for time in order for him to turn things around, with United currently 14th in the Premier League table.

But he believes that he will be under pressure in his job if he does not deliver results in the short-term despite having only been in the job for just over a month.

“The manager of Manchester United can never, no matter what, be comfortable,” he said ahead of United’s game against Newcastle.

“I know the business that I’m in. I know if we don’t win, regardless if they pay my buyout (clause) or not, I know that every manager is in danger.

“I like that, because that is our job, so I understand the question.

“You can say that I’m here a month and I had four training sessions, but we are not winning so that is the reality and I’m quite comfortable with that.”
