Real Madrid’s injury crisis has gone from bad to worse. Endrick, the exciting young forward, is the latest to go down.

During the second half of the recent match against Sevilla, around the 56th minute, the Brazilian grabbed the back of his thigh and collapsed on the pitch.

Though he tried to carry on for a few minutes, it was clear he couldn’t continue. Wincing in pain and barely able to run, he signalled to the bench. Victor Munoz came on to replace him.

Initial medical assessments suggest it is only a muscular overload rather than a tear, which brings some relief. However, the club’s medical team will run more tests over the next 48 hours to confirm the extent of the injury.

At the moment, it seems unlikely that Endrick will miss the Club World Cup next month, but his availability for the final La Liga fixture remains uncertain.

Attacking options running thin

With Endrick’s knock, four of Real Madrid’s five attackers are currently injured. The only fully fit option left is Kylian Mbappe.

Rodrygo is still recovering from hamstring discomfort and is racing against time to be fit. Vinicius Jr. is dealing with a Grade II ankle sprain, and Brahim Diaz is sidelined with a thigh injury.

This growing list of injuries has become a major concern for Real Madrid. Endrick’s situation does not seem serious, but it is yet another blow to a squad already pushed to its limits. He is now the 11th player in the treatment room, nearly half the squad.

The good news is that there’s still a full month before the Club World Cup begins, giving Endrick time to recover. But in the short term, Real Madrid must once again reshuffle their plans.

Real Madrid will be hoping that at least Rodrygo recovers in time, or they will be left with just one natural forward to finish the domestic season.
