Antony all set to complete loan move to Real Betis from Man Utd | OneFootball

Manchester United winger Antony is set to join La Liga club Real Betis on loan for the rest of the season, as per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils are looking to ship out some of their underperforming players to comply with the PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) threat, and Antony is dead-cert to secure his temporary exit.

The ever-reliable transfer expert has been providing updates on Antony on a regular basis, and he claims today that the Brazilian will fly to Seville tonight in order to complete his move to Real Betis at the earliest.

The player has been given the green light to secure his loan move after documents were approved by the two clubs.

The 24-year-old winger, who joined the club for a fee of £85 million in 2022, is on £200k-per-week wages. Romano says that the salary will be shared by the two clubs.

Betis will not have any buy-back clause, which means it is only a short-term loan deal.

His departure will free up the space for a new addition, and one of the players who could move to Old Trafford this month is Patrick Dorgu.

United are in advanced talks with Italian side Lecce to sign the highly-rated full-back.

Antony has failed to make an impact this season. The attacking midfielder has made only 14 appearances in all competitions, clocking only 407 minutes.

He has not made a single start in the Premier League and has been restricted to cup games mainly.

The former Ajax forward has been given opportunities by Ruben Amorim to impress, but clearly, it’s not working for him.

He has a contract at Old Trafford until 2027 and the Red Devils have the option to extend it for another year.

United paid a massive transfer fee to sign him, and they should aim to recoup a bulk of it next summer if they decide to offload him permanently.

If Antony makes a big impact in Spain, it will boost the market value. United fans must have grown frustrated by his below-par performances, and a move away from Old Trafford might help to reignite his career.
