The winter transfer window has closed, and Alexander Isak is staying at Newcastle United. While there was never much expectation that he’d move this winter, you can bet that clubs will be eager to make a move for him in the summer.
As a result, the Magpies are working on a contract extension that will keep Isak at St. James’ Park for the foreseeable future.
PSG manager Luis Enrique is reportedly interested in Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, as a previous report from Fichajes mentions. The Swedish striker has impressed with his speed, technical skills, and clinical finishing, all qualities that fit the attacking style Enrique wants to bring to Paris.
Meanwhile, FootballTransfers has reported that while Arsenal also admire Isak, Liverpool are said to be the most determined suitors and currently have the upper hand in a potential move.

Newcastle United is set to offer star forward Isak the biggest contract in the club’s history to keep him at St James’ Park.
That’s according to finance expert Stefan Borson, who told Football Insider that he doesn’t expect the Sweden international to leave the club due to their high valuation of him.
“I am sure it will be the highest contract they have offered,” Borson said. “The reason they have held onto their big players is because it would be very expensive to sign Guimaraes or Isak. There are very few teams that can play that game and compete for signings over £100million.
“I think Arsenal could do it if they really wanted to. If it wasn’t Arsenal, who is going to buy Isak and who can afford him? Basically, nobody and I include basically everybody.
“Bayern Munich have got Harry Kane, PSG seem to be in a new world, where their acquisitions seem to be in that £70million range, so they are not going to pay £100million. Nobody in Italy can do it. Man City don’t need Isak as a priority. You always want quality players, but City won’t buy Isak, so there are no buyers.
“The bottom line is, there are not many places he can actually go. They will offer him a new contract. He’s already got quite a lot left on his contract, but he’s clearly one of the best players in the Premier League right now and I don’t see him going anywhere.”
Former Newcastle star Alan Shearer believes Isak’s value could exceed £150 million thanks to his outstanding form. Shearer believes Chelsea might have an edge over Arsenal in the race to sign him but warns the Blues to tread carefully, as his price could keep climbing.
