When Arsenal named their squad to face Leicester City on Saturday, there were a couple of trialists included on the bench.
Though the Gunners didn’t officially name the two players, writing “Trialist 1” and “Trialist 2” on the team sheet, the Premier League has since confirmed the identities of both players.
The first trialist was Jaiden Owen of Norwich City, the second was Ronnie Gorman of Brighton and Hove Albion.

18-year-old Owen has made eight appearances in the u18 Premier League for Norwich City this season, primarily operating as a left-back. He’s also played for the Wales u17s in the past. But on this occasion, he didn’t make it off the bench.
Arsenal have taken quite a few youth left-backs on trials recently, also giving opportunities to Lennon Patterson and Marcell Washington.
Patterson subsequently signed for Sheffield United, but Chelsea’s Washington seemingly remains on trial, starting for the u21s against Everton on Friday. That was his fourth appearance for an Arsenal youth side, including three u21 games and one u18 match.

Trialist 2, Gorman, did make an appearance on Saturday, playing the last 10 or so minutes of Arsenal’s 4-3 victory. The midfielder has made 15 appearances for Brighton this season and recently signed with talent agency Mac Sports Management Int.
Funnily enough, Owen’s last appearance in a Norwich City squad was against Leicester City’s u18s on February 25th, and Gorman’s previous game was on a trial with Norwich on March 8th, also against Leicester’s u18s!
Leicester must be getting used to the sight of the pair by now.
