Arsenal host Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby this evening.

Mikel Arteta’s side will hope to capitalise on dropped points from the sides around them on Tuesday night. A win for the Gunners will take them within four points of leaders Liverpool.

However, Arsenal head into the contest without a win in three games. The North Londoners exited the FA Cup at home to Manchester United at the weekend, after losing a penalty shootout at the Emirates. That result followed a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final and a draw with Brighton in the Premier League.

Tottenham make the short trip to Arsenal aiming for a third consecutive win in all competitions. After a morale-boosting win over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-finals, Spurs unconvincingly reached round four of the FA Cup with an extra-time win over non-league Tamworth.

Spurs haven’t won at the Emirates in the Premier League since 2010.

Gabriel Jesus is expected to miss the rest of the season for Arsenal after sustaining a serious knee injury in the defeat to Manchester United. The Brazilian has suffered a suspected ACL and Arteta has admitted Arsenal are “actively looking” to improve squad in January to combat their absent attackers.

Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka remain on the sidelines, while defender Riccardo Calafiori is expected to miss out this evening due to a muscular issue. There’s better news on Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu who are each edging closer to first-team returns.
