There will be movement at AS Monaco this summer. The club have already been forthright in publically stating their intention to find a short-term replacement for Folarin Balogun, who is expected to be out until April with a shoulder injury. Spartak Moscow’s Manfred Ugalde (22) is a target, according to Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
However, there could also be arrivals in midfield. Eliot Matazo (22), who came through the ranks at the Principality club, is being heavily linked with a departure. The midfielder could join FC Nantes with reports that the player himself has already agreed terms with Les Canaris.
It is a move that would leave a hole to be filled. Two targets have been identified: RC Lens’ Neil El Ayanaoui (23) and Stade de Reims’ Amadou Koné (19), as per L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi. Monaco were interested in the former during the summer and even agreed a deal with Les Sang et Or, however, he then went on to fail his medical. Now recovered from the injury that prevented him from making the move in the first place, their interest has been re-ignited.
