Aston Villa remain in ‘positive’ talks to sign PSG’s Marco Asensio | OneFootball

Aston Villa and Paris Saint-Germain are locked in positive talks over the transfer of Spain international Marco Asensio (29), according to a report from L’Équipe.

As reported at the start of the month, Asensio will be allowed to leave PSG in January, should a reasonable offer arrive. Looking to reinforce their attack with Jhon Duran on his way out, Asensio is one of several players that Aston Villa would like to sign, as confirmed by sporting director Monchi, who stated publically that manager Unai Emery was “attracted” by the player.

There are other targets with João Felix and Marcus Rashford also being linked with a move to Villa Park in recent days. L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi is now reporting that PSG, Aston Villa, and the player’s representatives remain locked in positive talks over a permanent transfer. Talks remain ongoing in order to attempt to find an agreement before the closure of the transfer window on Monday.
