Bailey and Pierre help England Under-17s to victory in the MIMA Cup

Zara Bailey and Jhanaie Pierre featured in England Women’s Under-17s' 1-0 victory over Mexico on Saturday evening to help their nation win the competition.

Defender Zara started for a third consecutive game for the Young Lionesses and the full 90 minutes at Pinatar Arena, Spain, as took the captain’s armband for the second half, leading her nation to three wins in a week.

Forward Jhanaie came off the bench in the second half for Natalie Henderson’s side as Eva Foster’s strike in the 53rd minute proved to be the difference.

It brings an end to a successful week for our Academy duo on the international stage, with the pair also netting in the 3-1 win over Czech Republic while playing a key role in all three games in the MIMA Cup.
