Although the crucial stretch of the season ahead will be taking up most of the attention of FC Barcelona for the next couple of months, the Blaugranes are also working on strengthening their team in the upcoming summer transfer window.
In this regard, the Catalans have already outlined some of the positions that they would want to strengthen, and their highest priority would be to reinforce the forward line.
Barcelona have already been linked with several interesting players to reinforce the left-wing position and to bring more cover and a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski in the centre-forward position.
The latest to be linked with the Blaugrana club is the Italian striker, Moise Kean, as SPORT claims that the Catalans have already asked his entourage about his intentions for the future, and have him on their list to strengthen the centre-forward and the left-wing position.
Kean was trained at the Juventus academy and despite a good early trajectory, he was unable to find a good atmosphere for growth at the Turin club. He was unable to impress during his stints at Paris Saint Germain and Everton, and he also remained stagnant during the four years he spent at Juventus in total.
However, Fiorentina still decided to bet on him by paying €13 million fixed and promising another €5 million in variables to get him from Juventus. This bet has definitely paid off as Kean is once again shining and with 16 goals in Serie A and 21 goals in all competitions, he has emerged as one of the most exciting players in Italy this season.
The great season that he is having has also brought him to the attention of top European teams, and Fiorentina are quite pessimistic about their chances of retaining the €40 million-rated striker. He will have a release clause of €52 million from July 1 to July 15, but after that date, a deal will have to be arrived at with the Italians to get him.
Barcelona believe he can play well both in the centre of the attack and on the left wing, and thus he can be an alternative for other targets like Luis Diaz or Nico Williams.
But with their FFP situation once again highly uncertain, it remains to be seen how this operation will develop in the coming months.
