Barcelona make first contact over move for Napoli star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have kicked into gear efforts towards the signing of Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

That’s according to Diario Sport, citing Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.

It is of course common knowledge that the brass at Barcelona remain on the lookout for reinforcements out wide with a view to next season.

Despite the excellence of both Raphinha and Lamine Yamal across the season to date, Hansi Flick’s squad is considered as being light on options on the wing.

The summer of 2025 will in turn see Deco and co. kick back into gear efforts to land a top attacker.

And, as per the aforementioned Sport, one such option comes in the form of long-time Napoli standout Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Georgian international Kvaratskhelia is understood to be dragging his heels over signing a new contract in Naples, amid hopes of engineering a move to one of the continent’s leading clubs.

Barcelona, in turn, are keeping a close eye on the situation, aware of the 23-year-old’s eagerness to pull on the club’s famed red and blue stripes.

In fact, the Blaugrana have gone as far as to make contact with Kvaratskhelia’s representatives, regarding the parameters for a transfer for next summer.

French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, are also in the running.
