Barcelona’s interest in strengthening their attacking options for the upcoming transfer window has been well documented, and the latest development in their search has placed Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush under their watchful eye.
According to recent reports from SPORT, Barcelona representatives were present at the Europa League match between Danish side Midtjylland and Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday to observe Marmoush’s performance.
The Catalan club, currently focused on reinforcing their forward line, has been actively seeking a centre-forward who could potentially replace Robert Lewandowski.
With financial constraints being a significant concern, Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, is keen on making a high-profile signing that will energize the fanbase.
While names like Erling Haaland, Jonathan David, and Viktor Gyokeres have been linked with a move to Barcelona, Marmoush represents a more affordable option that could fit into their budget.

Although not the primary target, Marmoush has caught the attention of Barcelona’s sporting management due to his impressive performances.
His relatively low price tag compared to other potential signings could make him an attractive alternative for Barcelona, especially considering their current financial struggles. Despite this, other clubs are also monitoring the player.
Emissaries from Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester, Borussia Monchengladbach, Villarreal, and FC Koln were all present at the Europa League clash, underlining the growing competition for the striker’s signature.
Marmoush’s performances this season have been exceptional, with the forward scoring 15 goals across all competitions in his second season at Eintracht Frankfurt.
This includes 11 goals in the Bundesliga, 3 in the Europa League, and 2 in the German Cup. His impressive tally has placed him as the second-highest scorer in the Bundesliga, just behind Harry Kane.
Along with his goal-scoring exploits, Marmoush has also provided 11 assists, showcasing his all-around contribution to his team.
