A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has made his way onto the transfer radar of one of Italian football’s top clubs.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Italian outlet Calciomercato, who point towards Fermín López as the player in question.
Midfielder Fermín, for his part, is in the midst of another fine campaign in Catalunya’s capital to date.
Across 45 appearances in all competitions, the 22-year-old has racked up an impressive haul of eight goals and nine assists.
This comes despite the fact that Fermín remains a backup option in Hansi Flick’s squad, sitting behind Dani Olmo in the attacking midfield pecking order.
And as per the aforementioned MD, eager to take advantage of this fact, potentially as early as this summer, are Serie A champions Inter Milan.
The San Siro brass are on the lookout for a long-term replacement for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with Fermín considered the perfect fit.
Inter and boss Simone Inzaghi were left impressed by the Spanish international’s performances in their recent Champions League semi-final tie with Barca, with it concluded that:
‘No negotiations are underway, but Inter will consider signing Fermín at the end of the season.’
