Barcelona are through to their first Champions League semi-final in six years, going through 5-3 on aggregate – even though they lost 3-1 to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.

Serhou Guirassy got things going early with a cheeky Panenka penalty in the 11th minute, after Wojciech Szczesny clattered into Pascal Gross in the box.

The Guinea striker made it 2-0 just after half-time, giving the hosts hope of a comeback.

But just five minutes later, Barça got a lucky break – Ramy Bensebaini accidentally knocked the ball into his own net, giving the Spanish side a comfortable three-goal cushion on aggregate.

Guirassy grabbed his hat-trick in the 76th minute with a rocket into the top of the net after a dodgy clearance, but it wasn’t enough.

Hans-Dieter Flick's side saw out the rest of the match and booked their place in the semis for the first time since 2019.

They’ll face either Inter Milan or Bayern Munich next, depending on how that tie plays out on Wednesday.
