This week interest from Juventus in Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo emerged, with the Bianconeri keen to do a loan with an obligation to buy the Uruguayan in the summer. The most recent reports also say that Araujo has given the green light for a move.

According to a report from GdS, Araujo has accepted an offer from Juventus in case they are able to agree a deal for the centre-back with Barcelona. However Marca say that the Blaugrana have their doubts about their offer. They feel that it would be out of character from Araujo to negotiate behind their backs, and if he wanted to leave in January, he would have communicated this to them.

They are in contract discussions with Araujo, and have no indication from the player that he wants to leave, nor do they have any information of any talks ongoing between Juventus and Araujo. All in all, the Catalan giants are suspicious of the entire story.

It would certainly be surprising if Barcelona agreed to let Araujo go in January, especially as a loan deal would not allow them to strengthen an already thin squad immediately.
