Barcelona take on arch-rivals Real Madrid in the final of the 2025 Supercopa de España tonight.
Hansi Flick has his sights on winning his first silverware with the Catalans in Saudi Arabia. Barcelona beat Real Madrid 4-0 in La Liga in October, but the Spaniards have seen their form falter since.
La Blaugrana have dropped to third in La Liga as a result but back-to-back wins since the international break have restored confidence.
Goals from Gavi and Lamine Yamal earned a 2-0 win over Copa del Rey holders Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final of this competition. After defeat to Real Madrid in last season’s Supercopa, Barcelona are eyeing revenge and a record-extending 15th title.
Dani Olmo and Pau Victor are available for Barcelona after being handed temporary registrations. The Catalans are currently engaged in a legal battle with La Liga to register the players, after their short-term licences expired on December 31.
Wojciech Szczesny should continue in goal after starting successive goals. The veteran was coaxed out of retirement in the summer to ease Barcelona’s goalkeeping issues. Ronald Araujo’s involvement is uncertain, however, amid speculation surrounding the centre-back’s future. Juventus are pushing to sign the Uruguay international.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Andreas Christensen again miss out.
Barcelona predicted XI: Szczesny; Kounde, Cubarsi, Martinez, Balde; Casado, Pedri; Yamal, Gavi, Raphinha; Lewandowski
Real Madrid meet Barcelona in the final of the 2025 Supercopa de España on Sunday 12th January 2025. Kick-off at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah is 19:00 GMT.
The game will be broadcast on Movistar Plus.
