Rayo Vallecano winger Jorge de Frutos has shared his admiration for Barcelona’s rising star, Lamine Yamal, ahead of their upcoming clash, stating that the teenage sensation ‘has a gift’.

Barcelona are set to play against a strong Vallecano side that has been one of the most in-form teams in the competition.

As the match approaches, De Frutos, who operates in a similar position on the pitch as Yamal, took time to acknowledge the qualities of Yamal and his teammate Raphinha.

Praise for Yamal

He told SPORT that Yamal’s performances have been nothing short of extraordinary, despite his young age.

His ability to influence games with natural flair and technical brilliance has made him one of the most exciting prospects in La Liga.

“Lamine has a gift. Some players are born with that and you can see how easy they play football.”

Even last season, he showed glimpses of his immense potential, but this year he has taken his game to another level. Given that he is only 17, there is still a lot more to come from him, making his presence a huge asset for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

“Last year you could see it and this year it has exploded, although we haven’t seen a little bit of what’s left, I think. He’s 17 years old and he’s at this level.

“For the league and the national team, having such a differential player is very good for us,” he added.

Some words for Raphinha too

The Brazilian, who previously played mostly on the right flank, has now adapted to different roles, including playing on the left and even operating more centrally.

“Then I already liked Raphinha last year, it’s different. Before he played more on the right and now he plays you on the left, as a midfielder, everything.

“In the videos there is Lewandowski and he is still ahead,” he noted.

As Vallecano prepare to face Barcelona, the focus will undoubtedly be on Yamal and Raphinha, two players capable of making a difference in the game. Their talent and adaptability continue to be key factors in Barcelona’s attacking success this season.
